Viennese Ball in Sofia

In the year of the great Austrian composer, the Sixth Viennese Ball in Sofia was held under the sign of Mozart and the auspices of HE Dr. Karl Diem, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria, of Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivailo Kalfin and the Minister of European Affairs Meglena Kuneva.

Some 370 attended the ball. Elegant ladies and gallant escorts waltzed swiftly at Kempinski Hotel Zografski on February 11 Meanwhile, the charity activity of the ball was in full swing. The funds raised will be distributed between the Spine Surgery Department in Gorna Bania, Pancho Vladigerov State Academy of Music, St Spas Monastery, NATFA and the Academy of Fine Arts.

Girls from Neshka Robeva's company in snow-white dresses opened the event with the “debutantes' dance”, upholding the Viennese tradition, to the music of The Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss.

The company of Neshka Robeva presented a special midnight programme. At the end, the ladies were presented with a CD of Mozart's works each.

300 Years with Twinings

The owner of the oldest English tea company Twinings and a grandson of its founder, Steven Twining spent several hours telling the story of various tea blends to famous ladies in Shades of Red restaurant, the Grand Hotel Sofia. He organized a tea ceremony in partnership with Mrs. Anna Sendova, chairperson of Cultural Dialogue-21 Foundation.
