Most exhibitions get opened, covered and forgotten in time. Few are destined to become events. This is one – The Labyrinth: architecture, design and other arts by Oscar Tusquets Blanca. We owe the privilege and the fortune to see it on March 31, in Hall 6 of the National Palace of Culture to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Bulgaria and personally to the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Jose Angel Lopez Jorrin.

Pure Emotion, Pure Devotion

Under this heading the first collection of poems by Ani Kancheva, titular interpreter of the Ambassador of the United States to Bulgaria, H. E. Mr. James Pardew, and assistant protocol officer in the American Embassy, was published. The premiere of the book was held on March 30, 2004, in Sofia City Art Gallery which witnessed yet another intellectual triumph, embracing both the poetic and the social.

The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Juliana Tomova, Editor-in-Chief of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Review magazine and the person behind the publishing of the book. “The poetic works of this radiant young girl impressed me even back in August 2003, when I first heard her poems in the American residence,” Mrs. Tomova said. “Mrs. Kathy Pardew had invited prominent American and Bulgarian poets and Ani turned out to be a surprise. Her volume of poetry was born in a spontaneous and emotional way. Another surprise is that she is also an artist. Perhaps her next book will be accompanied by an exhibition…”
