The Annual Awards of the National Palace of Culture The awarding ceremony took place on June 8 at Sky Plaza restaurant. The NPC Director Hristo Drumev announced the special awards in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Ina Kileva. The awards are created by recognized and talented Bulgarian artists. Author of the statuettes is Krasimir Trendafilov, of the special award “Artist of the Salon” – Atanas Gadjev, of the ex libris of the Tenth Salon des Arts – Onnik Karanfilyan, of the design of the overall vision of the Salon and the diplomas – Vasil Indjov and Obelisk Design. The high level of the winners speaks of the high level of the Salon. Varna Opera received a statuette and a diploma for high artistic achievements in the field of musical and stage art and especially for the staging of Aida; 9+1 Project won the award for best foreign performance and for original and highly professional plastic recreation of modern times with an individual sensibility and variegated means of expression; and Sofia Municipality Culture Department – for program partnership and for the financial support in the 8th Muse Media Festival, for the exhibitions “Bulgarian Icons”, “Modern Bulgarian Art”, “10 European Artists from Bulgaria”, and other events in the Salon. The Journalists Award for 2004/2005, a crystal pyramid with the logo of the NPC, ex libris of the Salon des Arts and a diploma, were awarded to the journalist Petya Tetevenska from Bulgarian National Television for her talented reportages and interviews related to the artistic activities of the NPC. The special award Artist of the Salon, a plastic copy of a votive tablet “Nymphs” from the sanctuary near Ognyanovo-Saladinovo (Burdana, Pazardjik district, 2-3 c. AD) and a diploma, was given to the artist Keazim Isinov for his overall original work, for his artistic presence in Bulgarian culture and for his role in its recognition abroad, on the occasion of his retrospective solo exhibition within the Tenth Salon des Arts. The First Prize of the Tenth Salon des Arts, the statuette “Speech” and a diploma, was awarded to the National Museum of Fine Arts for the selection, preparation, implementation and presentation of the exhibitions “Bulgarian Icons”, “10 European Artists from Bulgaria” and “Modern Bulgarian Art”. The prize is bestowed also for the conception, development and presentation of the new permanent exposition in the renovated halls of the National Art Gallery. The Big Prize of the Tenth Salon des Arts, a statuette “Inspiration” and a diploma, was bestowed upon Ivo Papazov-Ibryama for his concert in the framework of the Salon, for his original contribution to the development of contemporary Bulgarian musical culture, and for the interpretation and popularization of folklore in modern terms. The Annual Award of the National Palace of Culture, a statuette “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” and a diploma, was presented to the great Bulgarian poet and brilliant translator Valeri Petrov for his overall literary work, for his universal ideas, for the nobleness and the humanism of his lyrics and for his extraordinary contribution to Bulgarian spirituality and culture. |
