H.E. Mr. Yuriy Rylach, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, was awarded the title Knight of the Honorary Insignia with ribbon “Glory and Honor” of the Union of the Bulgarian Commandos.

The award was conferred on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II and the Day of Valor and of the Bulgarian Army – May 6. H.E. Mr. Yuriy Rylach was decorated with the distinction by the chairman of the Union of the Bulgarian Commandos Juliy Abadjiev on May 18.

The ceremony at the Embassy of Ukraine was attended by the ambassadors of Russia, Belarus and Armenia, MPs, representatives of the diplomatic corps and NGOs.

H.E. Mr. Yuriy Rylach thanked for the honor and declared that it binds him to invest ever more efforts in the development of bilateral relations

H.E. Mr. Jeremy Hill, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Her British Majesty to Bulgaria, and his wife Mrs. Katie Hill welcomed the numerous guests at the residence. Diplomats, government, business and culture representatives and friends of the two countries came to honor the event.

June 2 is Italy’s National Day related to the proclamation of the republic in 1946. On this occasion H.E. Mr. Giovan B. Campagnola, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and his wife hosted a reception in the residence garden. It was attended by many guests, politicians, diplomats and people connected with the Italian language and culture.

A little before the reception in honor of the National Day of the Republic of Italy, at an official ceremony in the residence H.E. Mr. Giovan B. Campagnola bestowed the Star of Italian Solidarity upon the Minister of Economy Milko Kovachev and upon the chairman of the European Integration Committee at the National Assembly Daniel Valchev. The special distinction is awarded by the President of the Republic of Italy Carlo Azeglio Ciampi to foreign citizens for extraordinary contributions to Italy, the Italian language and culture.
