The Culture of the Goths, Sweden and Bulgaria

A Swedish-Bulgarian forum took place on February 12–16

A joint project of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, the University in Upsala, Sweden, BalkanMedia Association and Wulfila House Foundation, the forum was held in Sofia, Chirpan and St. Athanasius Monastery near Zlatna Livada village.

On February 23, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Anatoli Potapov and the Military Airforce and Naval Attache of Russia Col. Vladimir Kuligin hosted a reception on the occasion of the Day of the Defenders of the Fatherland.

Earlier the same day wreaths were laid at the monument to the Soviet Army and the Ossuary of the Soviet soldiers in Lozenets residential district.

On the occasion of the National Day of the Sate of Kuwait – February 25, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr. Mohammad Al-Awadhi hosted a reception.
At the elegant reception organized in Kempinski Hotel Zografski representatives of the government, the diplomatic, business and cultural circles came to honor Kuwait’s National Day.

The world of Andersen – 200 years

КартинаA series of events round the world and in Bulgaria will mark the birth of the magician of fairy tales Hans Christian Andersen. 2005 was announced a Year of Andersen at the initiative of the Danish government and Bikunen Foundation, the largest cultural and public organization in Denmark, whose patron is Her Majesty Queen Margarete II.

Mrs. Zorka Parvanova was elected honorary ambassador for the celebrations in Bulgaria.
