СтароселThe popularity of the Thracian cult complex near Starosel is growing by the day. Today, more than ever, people come to the locality and everyone finds their personal way to this miracle.

The extraordinary combination of striking scenery, peculiar energy, temple complexes and tombs, glorious kings and heroes of the ancient priestly tradition, have made this area one of the most significant cult centres of Ancient Thrace in Antiquity. The sense of divinity and sanctity has been preserved to this day, in the 21st century.

How to get there? The village of Starosel is located near the town of Hissar. On the road from Plovdiv to Karlovo there is a turn-off in the village of Ivan Vazovo. You can’t miss it! Fortunately, there are large brown signs, directing to remarkable tourist sights in the country. You drive on to Starosel and beyond the village you will see the mound from the road. Until recently it was virtually an adventure to get there, but now the road has been reconstructed and there is a parking lot. Little signs show the way to the other temples. In the cult complex you will be welcomed with an extensive talk by the friendly tourist guides, whose working hours are till 5 pm. Same as the opening hours of the temple.
