One of the latest books of Bulgarian Bestseller – NMBBP is dedicated to the life and work of the great Bulgarian pianist Prof. Atanas Kurtev. The traveller, absorbed in unriddling the secrets of the universe, is a virtuoso but also a man who notices the people and the world around him. About the pianist, pedagogue, teacher and friend Atanas Kurtev speak his friends and followers. The book also features personal memories of the maestro as well as his letters to his closest people. The professor who is still riding his bicycle in the streets of Sofia is a teacher in the National Musical Academy and is one of the few pianists who have had the opportunity to play the grand piano of Scriabin. He is known as performer of Chopin whom he recreates with romanticism, lyric and insight, although he is also a brilliant virtuoso in the interpretations of Scriabin, Brahms, Schubert, Bartok, Liszt, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky… The book Atanas Kurtev – Poet of the Piano, compiled by the maestro’s life companion gives everyone a chance to peep into the secrets of the maestro and of his music.
