Jubilee Exhibition of Lyuben Petrov
The Union of Bulgarian Artists marked the 95th anniversary of the master of landscape and still life with a glorious exhibition that comprised paintings, done in different periods of Lyuben Petrov’s artistic path. A bow and a swan’s song of the painter who set off on his final journey on the day of the opening of the retrospective – March 22, 2007. Perhaps he is now among the fairytale characters that populate his canvases and exhibit elevation, fineness and fantasy, which only great artists are able to express because they carry them in their souls. Passions after Wagner with Anna Tomowa-Sintow On March 11, 2007 on the stage of Bulgaria Hall an event took place. The concert of Classic FM Radio with a Wagner program. For the first time in Bulgaria Anna Tomowa-Sintow presented Sieglinde from act I of Walkure from The Ring of the Nibelung. In the musical challenge of Wagner, Sintow joined hands with the little known in Bulgaria but strongly recognized in Europe as one of the best Wagner interpreters Bulgarian conductor Jean Angelov, with the Greek tenor Angelo Simos (with him she made the first concert performance of Salome in Bulgaria) and with the basso Dimiter Stanchev, with whom she has often sung in our country. World of Dance
Innovative and inspired new language of the dance – this offered to the Bulgarian audience the world-famous Netherlands Dance Theatre. This was an extraordinary meeting where the dancers on stage were as though speaking, writing, pronouncing their plastic messages with the means of expression of speech. Bulgarian Intellectuals Decorated for Contribution to the Spreading of Italian Culture Maestro Alipi Naidenov and the interpreter Neli Chervenusheva were decorated with the Star of Italian Solidarity Order. The distinction is awarded by Italy’s President Giorgio Napolitano and was personally bestowed upon the laureates by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr. Gian Battista Campagnola. The solemn ceremony in Boris Hristov Musical Centre held on March 19 was attended by members of the Dante Alighieri Italian Committee in Sofia. The World Is Not Black-and-White, It Is Multicoloured About Neli Chervenusheva Ambassador Campagnola learned from the documentary film of Tedi Moskov, “The Interpreter of Black-and-White Movies”. How was the idea of creating one of the most humane and tender works that evokes tears of love and gratitude born? I sought the answer with Tedi Moskov’s protagonist, Neli Chervenusheva herself. |
