Prof. Kancho Tsanev and Robert Tsanev with a joint exhibition in the Crypt of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

A Meeting of Art and Charity

On October 15, 2007, the Tavita-Bulgaria Foundation organized an exhibition entitled “A Meeting of Art and Charity”. In the Furniture Art Salon of MMOBILI in Sofia were displayed over 25 canvasses donated by famous Bulgarian artists to support children deprived of parental care. Later the exhibition will travel to Belgium, where on December 13 in the Brussels residence of the Bulgarian ambassador to NATO H.E. Mr. Lyubomir Ivanov the paintings will be sold at a charity auction. The funds raised will be used for vocational training of children deprived of parental care, growing up in social institutions in Bulgaria.

The Treasures of the Khans

After retiring, he decided to keep supporting modern art and not accidentally picked out Bulgaria. During his mandate in our country (1995–2000) he met many Bulgarian artists and organized numerous exhibitions in the residence.

What Eva Davidova Doesn’t Want to Forget
Memories from the dreamt future in the exhibition Antropospaces II – The Oblivion

Eva Davidova’s works are different – they cannot be described or photographed. Her photo-animations are pictures from the past set in the unreal space of fantasy, which give us a clearer look on reality. The smooth, slow motions that hypnotically attract the eyes reveal the true essence of objects, things, emotions and people. A body, which unfolds in an incredible manner or lying amidst living rocks which seem to be whispering in their own language.

Kiril Petrov The Recluse

110 years since the artist’s birth

How come a man so quiet and humble can make an art so bold for its time? The critics rank him next to Maistora and Zlatyu Boyadjiev but still Kiril Petrov stays outside classification.
