From August 30 to September 2 Balchik hosted for the second time the International Folklore Festival Nestia – Balchik 2006. Every evening at the open-air stage near the harbour station there were performances by ensembles coming from different countries: Greece, Moldova, Russia, Serbia and the Czech Republic. The audience enjoyed their wonderful national costumes and marvellous dancing.
