For three weeks from September 18 to October 10, 2006 the stream of people before the National Library in Sofia did not stop. But most numerous were the pupils and students who came to take a look at the original drawings by Leonardo da Vinci and at some rare early printed books, related to the life and work of the great Renaissance artist. Co-organizers of the exhibition “Leonardo Da Vinci. Artistic and Technical Painting during the Italian Renaissance” are St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library, Biblioteca Leonardina in the town of Vinci (Italy) and the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia, under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Gian Battista Campagnola, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Bulgaria, and of Mr. Georgi Pirinski, President of the Bulgarian National Assembly.
