H.E. Dr. Heba Elmarassi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt and doyen of the African Group of Ambassadors gave a reception on the occasion of the Africa Day on behalf of the ambassadors and heads of missions from African countries to Bulgaria.

On 25 May, more than ever guests with diplomats, politicians, representatives of international organizations, of business and cultural elites, friends among them gathered in the embassy to respect the celebration.

At the reception, H.E. Dr. Heba Elmarassi said on behalf of her colleagues – ambassadors and chiefs of African missions to Bulgaria:
“This year celebrations marking this day are held throughout the world in a unified theme titled “Working together for Integration & Development”. As you all know, Africa is home to one quarter of world countries, yet remains underprivileged in many aspects. As our founding fathers have shown, the initiative for development and reform has to come from within, in collaboration with outside assistance and support.
